The RYA Level 2 Powerboat Course is an internationally recognised qualification that teaches practical skills in powerboat handling, navigation and 'on-water' safety. Delivered by our team of qualified RYA instructors, the course combines classroom learning with hands on training that covers boat manoeuvres, emergency procedures and basic navigation. On successful completion, you’ll, not only, gain the qualification but the confidence and competence to operate a powerboat safely in a variety of conditions. Suitable for all abilities.

Course Overview
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course
During your 2 days on a Powerboat level 2 course we try and maximise your time out on the water. You will learn and practice a range of skills including berthing the boat in a variety of ways, picking up a mooring buoy, man overboard, handling the boat at faster speeds, as well as learning some basic navigation techniques.
Our base in the centre of Poole Harbour is a great location for this course as it has plenty of natural training aids including a wide range of buoyage, different size channels, array of other water traffic and various different Marinas to practice berthing. Poole Bay which is just a short transit through the harbour gives us plenty of space to practice some faster boat handling in a nice open area.
Duration: 2 days (09.15 – 17.00)
Minimum age: 12 (12 – 17 must be accompanied by an adult also participating on course)

Location : Based in Port of Poole Marina, in the heart of Poole Harbour, we can boast one of the best Powerboat training locations on the South coast of the UK. Onsite facilities include our Training Room, parking and changing facilities with showers.
Poole Harbour and the surrounding coastline provide the ideal training area with sheltered waters for initial learning, an array of buoyage and sandy beaches to practice anchoring and make for an all round great day out on the water.
International Certificate of Competence (ICC)
Despite the RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate being widely recognised, some customers like the peace of mind of also getting their ICC. On successful completion of the Course students can apply for their ICC via the link below which is free of charge as an RYA Member or £50 for non members
