Course Overview
The RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course
The Intermediate Powerboat course builds on the foundation knowledge of the Level 2 Powerboat course and is suited to those who aim to drive larger, more powerful powerboats. During the two days you will cover cruising at planing speed, coastal planning for small passages and more advanced boat handling. It is recommended for anyone considering moving on to the Advanced course.
Duration: 2 days
Minimum age: 16
Previous experience: Boat handling to the standard of the Level 2 Powerboat Handling course with a coastal endorsement. Knowledge to the level of day skipper theory is recommended. It is strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF/SRC operators certificate.
Location: Based in Port of Poole Marina, in the heart of Poole Harbour, we can boast one of the best Powerboat training locations on the South coast of the UK. Onsite facilities include our Training Room, parking and changing facilities with showers.
Poole Harbour and the surrounding coastline provide the ideal training area with sheltered waters for initial learning, an array of buoyage and sandy beaches to practice anchoring and make for an all round great day out on the water.
