STCW & Theory Courses:
As well as on the water training we have a busy program of land based theory courses and offer the STCW Training Course through a training partner.
STCW Basic Safety Training (STCW 95/2010):
The STCW basic safety training course is the minimum legal requirement for working aboard a vessel of 24 metres or more commercially, this includes superyachts and cruise ships. Working with our local approved MCA Training Provider we can offer the full STCW Basic Training Qualification or individual elements of it.
RYA First Aid Course – 1 Day (Classroom)
The one day course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages. This course is MCA approved and satisfies the requirements for Coastal Skipper Yachtmaster and Advanced Powerboat certificates of competence and some commercial work afloat.
RYA VHF / SRC (Either Classroom or Online)
The RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required to operate marine VHF radio equipment on a UK flagged vessel. This includes both fixed and handheld equipment with and without Digital Selective Calling (DSC). It is obtained by successfully completing an SRC exam conducted at an RYA recognised training centre.
RYA / MCA Sea Survival (Classroom & Swimming Pool)
This 1 day course provides an understanding of how to use marine safety equipment.
RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship (Either Classroom or Online)
This 1 day Conversion Course is for existing RYA Powerboat Instructors with PW riding experience who would like to gain their RYA PWC Instructor Qualification.
RYA Day Skipper Theory Course (Classroom)
A comprehensive 5 day introduction to chartwork navigation meteorology and the basics of seamanship. Invaluable for learning how to start making decisions on board and if you are considering taking the Day Skipper practical course.
RYA Yachtmaster Theory Course (Classroom)
A 6 day advanced training course for more experienced skippers building on the Day Skipper course. This course equips you to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages.
